Original Post: Like the waitress from the 70s & 80s TV sitcom, Flo the Chinchilla rabbit is sassy and independent and her motto might just be “Kiss My Grits!” She’s a very intelligent and curious bunny but she can be a bit stand-offish – but with good reason! Flo used to be part of a petting zoo, and was poked, prodded, and subjected to loud and unruly children on a daily basis.
Knowing that she needed some dedicated time to recover from this past stress, she has been spending the last several weeks in a foster home. She had her own bedroom all to herself, and two doting foster parents who patiently worked with her daily to gain her trust. They’re going to miss their sassy Flo, she has a distinct personality and they really enjoyed their time with her!
Some of her favorite things include exploring the world outside her pen, looking at herself in the mirror, destroying old phone books, running through her giant cement tube, hiding out in cardboard boxes, redecorating her pen and snacking on kale and broccolini. She’s quite a character and although she weighs about 8 lbs., when she’s chilling out in front of her fan she often flattens herself down like a big ol’ pancake!
Flo would do well in a calm household where she can be the center of your attention and be a part of your home with places to play beyond her pen. We have found, in our vast rabbit experience, that once bunnies like Flo start trusting you, they end up being the absolute BEST rabbits, as well as the most rewarding!
