We had a special surprise announcement at Bunnyfest on Sunday! Live by Skype, we learned that GA HRS has been chosen to be one of the first six episodes of a reality concept show named Animal House www.animalhouse.tv Rebecca Rodriquez and Alycia Barlow Hadfield are the creators and producers of the show and they both have a huge love for all animals and film. They put their two passions together and came up with this show concept with the tag line – Helping the people who help the animals. The show is modeled after the reality show “Extreme Makeover, Home Edition “and the plan is they will come in and give our Rabbit Center a much needed remodel, expansion and other perks, however the most important thing is the National spotlight that will happen for rescued rabbits! This show and the resulting publicity around it can make the difference in thousands of rabbit’s lives! At this point we are not sure of all that will happen and we are just trying to absorb the enormity of it all. Rebecca and Alycia also want to do many different type of rabbit education PSA’s and also intend to incorporate rabbit rescue habitats and programs in other cities where they go in and remodel/rebuild various rescues- they have picked the first six shows and now have the support to do thirteen shows and feel with the success already building, this show can even go international. They recognize that rabbits are the 3rd most dumped pet at shelters and need the equivalent support!
What can you do right now? Please thank them for helping rabbits as an “others post” on their FB page, https://www.facebook.com/AnimalHouseglp or on the contact section of their web page. This shows their investors that rabbit people are a unified national group and will watch the show – hugely important in TV land! We need to show them that rabbit lovers are a united audience – it would be amazing if their total “ likes” will jump by thousands from the “rabbit people” and that will register with their investors!
Stay tuned for developments – we will keep you posted. Cheers for the Bunnies!
