Cinnamon’s story started off as an all too familiar one. A discarded Easter present, she wound up at the St. Paul Humane Society. There, she was eventually rescued and adopted by the Stiteler’s, a loving and compassionate couple.
This is when Cinnamon’s life took an unsuspected turn. In a moment of pure inspiration, the couple started adding photos of their grumpy looking rabbit to their website, calling the section “disapproving rabbits.” Before long, they had an Internet sensation on their hands! Not long after a book deal followed.
Over the years Cinnamon’s grumpy grin was the source of many smiles for many people. We are sad that she is gone and our hearts go out to Cinnamon’s parents who undoubtedly must feel lost without her. Below is their posting to www.disapprovingrabbits.com
“It is with deep sadness that Sharon and I tell you that Cinnamon has passed away. She had a wonderful life of some 13 years.
As you can imagine, this is an emotional time for us. We’re going to take a break from the website for a week. Starting next Monday, we’ll have a week of rabbits for you (that were set to run this week), and then we’ll see what happens from there. No decisions have been made; we’re just taking it one day at a time.
Please feel free to post your comments below. If you feel like donating, please give your money, resources, or time to a local animal shelter, which is where we found Cinnamon.
And, as always, for your love and support of this website, we thank you.”
We have received a few donations in the past day or so in Cinnamon’s name. We gratefully accept them on behalf of this beautiful rescue bun who did so very much to not only inspire smiles on the part of bunny lovers everywhere but to raise awareness of rabbit rescue.
We will miss you Cinnamon!!
