Nico’s trial bonding is no longer a trial because the bonding worked out! We wish Nico the best in his new home!
Little Nico is currently in a trial bonding and not available for adoption. Seeing as though its the bunnies who decide if this living arrangement will stick, this might not Lead to an official adoption. Check back here for updates about Nico!
Original Post: Precious Nico came to us as a tiny little bun suffering with a broken foot. In fact, Nico was so small at the time that the cast on his leg measured only an inch and a half long! Nico got his injury because his previous family was handling him a bit too roughly and dropped him on some iron furniture. The fall shattered his fragile foot. When they took him to the vet, the cost to save him was more than they wanted to spend, so they asked to have little Nico “put down” instead.
Thankfully, the kind hearted vet couldn’t stomach ending the buns life, so he stepped up and rescued him! All of us at the GHRS are so grateful that someone was there looking out for Nico. The next several weeks were spent recuperating in one of our medical pens at the Rabbit Center.
Despite his traumatic past, Nico is just as sweet as he can be. He gives out kisses to our volunteers and takes his medicine like a champ! He’s now all healed up, free of his cast, and ready for adoption. Nico’s foot will never be 100% better as it had be broken in the most severe of ways, but Nico doesn’t seem to mind, and it doesn’t seem to cause him much limitation. Being that it’s no concern of Nico’s, it shouldn’t be a concern you either. He’s a lovely, affectionate bun who just wants to love and be loved in return!
