Original Post: We love the Bean here at the shelter! In fact, He even moonlights as the GHRS office assistant on Saturdays.
Pinto Bean’s story begins back in 2008 when him and his bunny wife, Jane, were adopted from the shelter. Sadly, Jane passed away earlier this year and as you can imagine, Pinto was just broken hearted over losing his best friend and constant companion. Knowing he was lonely and depressed, Mr. Bean was introduced to another one of our rescue rabbits, a girl bunny who had also lost her mate. We had all hoped they would bond and comfort each other in their time of need. Well, unfortunately, this 1st date was just awful, we’ve all been there at one point, and it made Pinto miss his beloved Jane even more.
It was then that Pinto Bean, the grieving widower, became ill and needed medication. All of the loss and stress was just overwhelming to his owner, and with Mr Bean needing constant care and medical attention we decided to take him back into the shelter. At first he was a really sad and unwell little fellow, who would sit in the corner and mope. We nursed him back to health, but still, he seemed to be missing company. So we decided the best thing for a sad bunny is to get back to work. In early May, Pinto Bean became our Saturday office assistant and he took to it with GUSTO! He loves helping shred the office paperwork and hops on over to make sure we’re working hard and that team morale is high. Thanks Pinto!
With all this attention and his new role at the center, Pinto perked up and now his confidence and joy shine through! He’s a very perky and happy bunny, easy to handle, healthy and ready for his forever home! We are certain that any bunny lover would enjoy his company as much as we all have! Pinto Bean, aka Pinto, Mr Bean and Beanie, is up for adoption and waiting to meet you!
