Below is a letter we received from Chance’s adoptive mom, Danielle. We were so happy to hear this news, that we asked her if we could share it with you. Along with her approval, we got a few great photos of Chance, now named Mongo.
We hope that his story serves as inspiration to you, not only as an example of a fantatically successful rescue but as an example of what wonderful companions rabbits can be!
“Mongo (A.K.A. Chance) is such a great rabbit. When I first met him at the shelter it was love at first sight, and since then we have become really good friends. We bonded him with our other rabbit, Monkey, and they never leave each other’s sides.
Mongo has an amazing personality. He likes to chase me around the house, and then he always waits for me to turn around and chase him too. Probably one of my favorite things about him is that he likes to cuddle so much. He will sleep with me all night or sit on my lap and watch tv with me for hours. Sometimes when he is sleeping next to me he will start dreaming and thump his back feet and growl. It’s so funny to watch!
He is trained to walk well on a harness so he goes for walks every evening. When he is outside on his harness he runs really fast and does a lot of binkies. He also digs holes in the dirt and chews on tree roots. He always seems so happy to go for his walks every day.
Right now he is in the process of learning tricks. The first trick he is learning is to stand of really tall whenever I say “Mongo, STAND!” I bought a clicker to help train him to do more tricks in the future. He is very smart!
I love Mongo so much and whenever I am away from him I can’t wait to get home to see him. He is such a kind and loving rabbit. I’m so glad I found him at the shelter. He is perfect and I can’t imagine my life without the little guy!”
